110 kilogrammes containing 10 boxes of chicken wings and one box of chicken tails without a Halal Import Permit were confiscated after a vehicle was detained as a result of the Operasi Bersepadu conducted by the enforcement of the Halal Food Control Division, Department of Syar'iah Affairs, Ministry of Religious Affairs with the cooperation of the Royal Customs and Excise Department. The operation was carried out on the 25th of April in the Kampung Salambigar Industrial Area.

 

The case was handed over the Royal Customs and Excise Department for further investigation and law action. The Ministry of Religious Affairs reminds the public that importing halal raw meat into the country must possess a Halal Import Permit from the Brunei Islamic Religious Council and meet the requirements set by other agencies related to the importation of halal meat. That matter needs to be obeyed so that the meat brought in and sold in the country is guaranteed to be halal.
